The Golden Gate Bridge is often referred to as “one of the world’s most beautiful bridges, unquestionably its most photographed.” The main span was the world’s longest suspension bridge when it was completed in 1937, measuring 4,200 feet (1,280 m).Although it did not have a long overall length when it opened, construction costs were so much greater than those of its contemporaries that its total length of 8,981 feet (2249 m) was longer than any other suspension bridge. Alcatraz Island, commonly known as “The Rock,” is located in the San Francisco Bay, about 1.5 miles offshore from California’s acclaimed city, San Francisco. The island initially became famous for serving as a federal prison that housed some of America’s most notorious criminals throughout its 29 years of operation – famed examples include Al Capone and “Birdman” Robert Stroud. The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art is a state-of-the-art museum located in the beautiful city of San Francisco, California. SFMOMA is the West Coast’s first and only museum dedicated exclusively to 20th-century art. The California Academy of Sciences is one of the world’s largest natural history museums, located in San Francisco, California. In addition to being a research institution and holding many specimens, the Academy also conducts original research itself. The Academy’s collections include more than 26 million specimens and artifacts, representing over 85% of the Earth’s species.
The Academy has long been an institution at the forefront of scientific discovery and environmental stewardship. In 1853, the State Legislature founded the Academy as an academic society with the goal of promoting scientific knowledge within California. The organization moved to its current location in Golden Gate Park in 1916 after suffering seismic damage at its previous Van Ness Avenue facility.
The Exploratorium isn’t your typical museum. It’s a hands-on place where you can explore the world around you. There are more than 600 exhibits to play with, and the staff is always on hand to help you understand what you’re seeing.

There are more than 100 shops and restaurants in addition to the Aquarium of the Bay and Sea Lion Center at Pier 39. A street performance area, a carousel, and an arcade are also available.
Lombard Street is a well-known street in San Francisco, California. It is recognized for its steep slope and the fact that it houses several notable buildings, such as the Painted Ladies. The unusual course and picturesque scenery make it a must-see for anyone visiting San Francisco.

It’s located just north of San Francisco in Marin County, is easily accessible by car or public transportation, and features some of the world’s tallest trees as well as a diverse selection of plant and animal life. The Muir Woods are part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, where visitors can see some of the world’s tallest trees as well as a wide range of plant and animal life. There are numerous historic structures and locations at Muir Woods National Monument, including the Muir Woods Cabin, which was erected in the early 1900s.
